U.S. Air Force Academy Units
34th Education Group - 34 EG
Our
Mission
The Education Group's command staff and two squadrons are a
unique blend of military structure and academic functions. Our
group structure, organized under the Commandant of Cadets' 34th
Training Wing, supports a mission similar to the disciplinary
departments of the Dean of Faculty, but with an important
difference -- we focus our curriculum on the warfighting issues
that confront military officers. Within the context of the Air
Force Academy's broad core curriculum of engineering, basic
sciences, social sciences, and humanities, we contribute
professional depth. The group staff supports the education
squadrons with direction and resources for faculty development,
instructional technology, research, and enrichment programs.
Together with the Operations Group, Training Group, Support
Group, and the Center for Character Development, the Education
Group helps the 34th Training Wing inspire, educate and train
the aerospace leaders of tomorrow.
The
34th EG is comprised of the following 2 Squadrons:
34th Education Squadron.
The 34th Education Squadron is divided into three divisions:
Strategic Studies Division, Military Power Division and Forces
Integration Division. This squadron has a rich history dating
back to 1941 to teach bombardment.
50th Education Squadron.
The squadron 50th Education Squadron is divided into three
divisions: Security Applications Division, Space Warfare
Division and Air Warfare Division. The unit flew observation
missions in the American built DH-4 over the battlefields of
World War I. And still shows these aircraft in their patch.
