The 3ACR is the newest unit to come to Fort
Carson from Fort Bliss, Texas. It is a combined arms unit
composed of three cavalry squadrons, an aviation squadron,
and a support squadron. The regiment operates independently
over wide areas and is a highly mobile force that can
conduct reconnaissance, security, offensive, and defensive
