Anasazi Cliff Dwellings
Manitou Cliff Dwellings
Preserve and Museums located in the scenic foothills of Pikes
Peak, overlooking the historic town of Manitou Springs, offer a
unique look at Native American culture.
While wandering through the preserves you will discover the
fascinating architecture of the ancient Anasazi. Indian dancers
provide traditional programs June through August.
Visitors are encouraged to explore the dwellings, room by room
on a self-guided tour. The actual ruins date back to 1100-1300
A.D. and are sure to delight visitors of all ages.
The dwellings are paired with 2 museums featuring cultural
displays of prehistoric Southwestern Indians. Several gift shops
feature Indian-made pottery, jewelry and crafts, as well as
Colorado souvenirs and collectables.

Buffalo Bill's Grave
Buffalo Bill tried to
preserve the buffalo by starting a protected herd in the latter
19th century. In his honor the Buffalo Bill Memorial Museum was
erected.
At the museum you will find Sitting Bull's bow and arrows,
Buffalo Bill's show outfits, Frederick Remington's "Portrait of
a Ranch Hand", and other objects from the Old West.
Another attraction to this location is the one, and the only,
grave of William F. "Buffalo Bill" Cody. By his request, Buffalo
Bill was buried on Lookout Mountain in 1917, overlooking the
Great Plains and the Rockies.
Feel the breezes from the high peaks of the Continental Divide,
smell the Ponderosa Pines, and watch the mountain wildlife, all
just thirty minutes from downtown Denver. Part of the Denver

Fourmile Park
Just 4 miles from downtown
Denver you can escape to a 12 acre park and relive the past. In
the park you can see the Four Mile House which is an original
home built in 1859 by the Brantner brothers, it is the oldest
standing structure in Denver.
This is not your average park, on an stroll around the 12 acres
you can visit Percheron draft horses, goats and chickens. If you
are not into the animals, take a look at the barns, or walk
through the beautiful gardens.
The park hosts special throughout the year including;
Old-Fashioned 4th of July, Colorado Folks Art Festival, The
Great Pumpkin Harvest Festival, and A Colorado Christmas. Call

Fort Garland
Located in southern
Colorado, Fort Garland with its force of 100 men, served to
protect the early settlers of the San Luis Valley.
Established in 1858,
Garland was once commanded by the legendary Kit Carson. Rich in
military history, Fort Garland also highlights the folk art and
culture of the Hispanic community in southern Colorado. For more

Georgetown Railroad
In the 1860's the mountains
between Georgetown and Silver Plume established the area as one
of the great silver-producing regions in the world. Soon a
railroad had been built from Denver to Golden and up the
mountains to Georgetown.
The challenge was now to connect the rail from Georgetown to
Silver Plume which had to climb 600 ft. in just 2 miles. The
project was complete in 1884 after one of the most famous
engineering masterpieces – The Devil's Gate High Bride – was
finished.

Mollie Kathleen Goldmine
These unique gold mine & ghost
town tours offer you a chance to go down 1,000 feet in the
Mollie Kathleen Gold Mine and step into the boots of the 1890's
hard rock miner. You will ride the man-skip down to the 10th
level and walk through time as your tour guide explains the
100-year-old mine and it's heritage. Next board a modern shuttle
and learn about the mine with a rich past and promising future –
the famous Cresson Gold Mine operated by Victor Gold Mining
Company.
The single largest surface gold mine in the state, the Cresson
Mine currently is extracting 225,000 ounces of gold annually.
Using surface techniques to remove the gold ore, and modernizing
leaching methods developed in the district in the late 1890's,
Cripple Creek and Victor Gold Mining Company has brought new
life to the Cresson Mine. These tours peruse through the largest
concentration of ghost towns and old gold mines in the state.
